Great bowls of snow. According to legend, all the wonderful snow that Fernie enjoys is due to Griz, the Powder King. We should be grateful to him because the snow in the Lizard Range that surrounds Fernie is indeed legendary. Fernie is a powder hounds paradise.

All this snow plus the 5 huge bowls and steep terrain make this a very exciting resort for the adventurous skier. For intermediates, the runs off the Elk Chair will give you confidence before tackling the Boomerang. There is also a rail park with plenty of features, two kids’ rails and some beginner terrain as well.
At the base of the mountain is a small, largely ski-in village. There is a good variety of accommodation, restaurants and a few bars. Fernie Town, just 15 minutes away on the free shuttle, has more in the way of nightlife and a few more shops. The local ice hockey team, the Fernie Ghost Riders, play there and matches are good fun.
This area offers some of the best terrain in the world for cat-skiing - which can be prebooked through us. Snow mobiles, dog-sledding, snowshoeing and the popular torch lit run & BBQ are all well worth trying.
