With four mountains offering a vast array of diverse slopes, Aspen Snowmass really does have something for everyone.
Dominating the town are the trails of Aspen Mountain, which lead down to the edge of the resort.
Buttermilk’s main appeal is to beginners and early intermediates.
Nearby Aspen Highlands is renowned for the famous, Highlands Bowl, with its dramatic off-piste plunging down from its narrow ridge, yet also has some lovely groomers sheltered by trees.
Snowmass is the largest of the four mountains and is ideal for novices and intermediates, but experts will find steeps and glades to entertain too. No matter where you stay all 4 mountains are accesible using the FREE shuttle buses.
Originally a silver mining town, Aspen now welcomes many a silver wearer, but it is more than accessible on a budget too.
Existing before the coming of ski holidays there is a true town feel to the place, with regular shops alongside the gift stores and boutiques.
Snowmass is a purpose built resort and is linked with Aspen town and the other mountains by a FREE bus service which operates until 2am. Snowmass is a quieter resort and cheaper than Aspen town itself but still has several restaurants to choose from and is great for families. You can still easily access the main nightlife and apres ski in Aspen town. In Aspen itself there are plenty of choices when it comes to eating and drinking, from traditional pubs to exclusive restaurants.
Beyond the art galleries and boutiques, Aspen also has an ice rink, cinema and swimming pool, amongst other diversions off the slopes.
