Kicking Horse lies high in the dramatically named Dogtooth Range of the Purcell Mountains and is renowned as a destination for those that love big mountain skiing. Craggy peaks rise high above wide open bowls and long, challenging runs, with much of the area best suited to more advanced skiers and boarders.

Phenomenal powder, tremendous terrain and a huge vertical - the stuff that dreams are made of. The gondola ride to the top of Eagle’s Eye is stunning in itself, with views of sharp peaks punctuating the sky and trails of all descriptions passing beneath. Kicking Horse has terrain for novices and early intermediates, mainly on the lower slopes, but it is advanced and extreme terrain where the resort excels. Steep off-piste routes, several accessed only by hiking and plenty of tough trails too. The addition of the Super Bowl increases the resorts feast of Double Black Diamond terrain still further with 15 new chutes.
The small resort village of delightful lodges, well appointed apartments and town-homes has developed around the base, with the town of Golden 14km away in the valley below. Night-life in the village is limited but enjoyable, with a few dinner and drinking options, along with activities such as skating and tubing, but that isn’t why you come to Kicking Horse - Kicking Horse is all about the mountain.
